Cathedral hosts school's beginning of year service
This morning's service at Blackburn Cathedral to mark the beginning of the school year had the theme "Striving for Wisdom", one that was picked up and developed by the preacher, The Rt Rev Michael Campbell OSA, Bishop of Lancaster.
There was an offertory collection, the proceeds of which will be sent to the DEC emergency appeal to help the victims of the terrible floods in Pakistan.
