Library
The impressive and well-stocked Library in Queen’s Wing gives pupils at QEGS convenient access to a wide-ranging store of reference and reading material. It contains 13,800 books (fiction as well as non-fiction) along with national newspapers, magazines, academic journals, CDs, videotapes and story cassettes and CDs.
The Library offers CD-ROM facilities for pupils wishing to expand their research and internet access is available in the adjacent ICT rooms. The Library is open all day from 8.45am until 4.15pm, being used at the end of the school day by the after-school Homework Club with the Librarian.
A key facility in familiarising younger pupils with the resources available to help their studies, the Library is staffed full time by our Chartered Librarian and has computerised catalogues and book issue systems, plus an electronic security system.
