Sixth Form

Our co-educational Sixth Form is an excellent preparation for life at university and beyond, when students of both genders will be required to work and socialise naturally with each other. Singleton House, the purpose-built Sixth Form Centre at QEGS, is an ideal setting for students to prepare for this important next step in their careers.
Here they can study for the academic A level examinations that will be their passport to good results - 65% A/B in 2008 - and a university place (in 2008 over 95% of QEGS students achieved a place at university, with the others opting for equally prestigious alternatives). The excellent pastoral care they receive from tutors who really know them and then write their references provides real guidance for these crucial two years. Students also make use of the well-resourced Careers Library and take advantage of practical and up-to-date careers advice from experienced staff.
Singleton House also offers the freedom and space for Sixth Formers to eat (in their own canteen), relax and socialise with their peers. As one recent Sixth Former put it, 'I chose QEGS as a halfway house between school and university - and I'm glad I did'.
