Two teams of Sixth Form girls performed splendidly to carry off a number of accolades in the Blackburn and District round of The Business and Professional Women (BPW) Public Speaking Competition. The girls competed against seven other teams from four other local state and independent schools.

Remembrance Day representatives - 11 Nov 2007
The school was well represented at the annual Remembrance Day service in the town, with the Headmaster, Deputy Head (Pastoral), Head of School and a number of boys and girls from throughout the Senior School in attendance, in school uniform.

Headmaster Simon Corns told parents and pupils at this evening's Prize Giving ceremony that, since taking over from Dr David Hempsall at the beginning of September, he had found Queen Elizabeth's to be "in excellent order, with confidence in itself and some excellent results on which to base that confidence and aim higher still".

Nineteen pupils at Queen Elizabeth’s Grammar School in Blackburn achieved Grade A* or A in all the subjects they sat in this year’s GCSE examinations with three, Thomas Bamford, Callum Jones and Catherine Wooldridge, recording A* grades in all but one of the ten subjects they took.
